How to Play Only Prettier by Miranda Lambert

This is definitely a "girl song" so I must make it clear, I only enjoy the melody and intro riff, not the message. haha. It's kind of selfish and trivial anyway isn't it? Oh well, I hope ya'll enjoy the pickin'!

verse 1

Am G
I bet youd never guess who I saw tonight
Am G
Guess you didnt see me in those low dim lights
Bm C
I knew who she was by the ring still on her hand
Am G D
Sure looked like you wanted to be her man

Chorus
  Am Em D
So I guess that means that things are better
Am Em D
Must not be so bad at home
  Am Em
I thought it looked like you were leavin
        D
But it dont
      Am Em D
And I heard you tell her you still love her
       Am Em D
So it doesnt matter what you say
          C
I saw it all
               C

Song of the Week: Sunny Sweeney's "From a Table Away"

From A Table AwayThis week's song of the week goes to Sunny Sweeney's brand new single From a Table Away. With it's deep crisp electric guitar riffs and haunting pedal steel licks Texas native Sweeney certainly showcases her southwestern credentials. The song is about a girl who think she's in love with a man who has left his former lover to be with her. She finds out unexpectedly that in reality he's playing both sides of the fence when she sees them in a dimly lit restaurant showing affection. Just as always, Country music shows the other side of evil - it's negative consequences. Cheating may be fun for a season, but in the end it results in hurt and confusion.

My Father and Me (Father's Day Special)

My Father and Me
Music and Lyrics by Jonathan Harris

Vs. 1
Em7 C9 G D2
He brought me into this world alive,
Em7 C9 G D2
Firstborn of a man and wife, I was tryin’ to be like him,
Em7 C9 G D2 A
From the food I ate, the clothes I wore, the things I did while growing up,
C9 D2
I learned to be tough

Chorus
G D Bm C D G
Blessing to me, you were the only way, that brought me to this place, of tenderness and grace
(are) (brings) (Shouts of joyful praise)
G D A C D G
Hero of heroes, the rock that I could be, a lighthouse on the Sea, my Father and me
(Justified and Free) (Adopted unto Thee)
Vs. 2

Running into that house one day,
My mother and brothers, prayed by the bedside everything would be ok,
I looked at him and cried, the doctor said it’s the last time you may see,
He’s gonna be free

Chorus

Bridge
F C G
He drew a breath and looked up on me, let out with one last peaceful sigh,
Bb C D
Said “son I’m proud of you,” then he closed his eyes

Verse 3
Nailed to a cross of wood,
Splinter piercing anguish, all he did was cry “It is Finished”
The blood flowed down his crown His Father turned his back away from sin,
But He rose again,

Chorus

It's a little pitchy...sorry bout' that.
