How to Play He Stopped Loving Her Today by George Jones

G
He said I'll love you til I die
C
She told him you'll forget in time
D
As the years went slowly by
G
She still preyed upon his mind
G
He kept her picture on his wall
C
Went half crazy now and then
D
He still loved her through it all
G
Hoping she'd come back again

G# (# from here on out)
Kept some letters by his bed
C
dated 1962
D7
He had underlined in red
G
Every single I love you
G
I went to see him just today
C
Oh but I didn't see no tears
D7
All dressed up to go away
G
First time I'd seen him smile in years

Chorus:

G G7
He stopped loving her today
C
They placed a wreath upon his door
D7
And soon they'll carry him away
G
He stopped loving her today
G
You know she came to see him one last time
C
Oh and we all wondered if she would
D7
And it kept running through my mind
G
This time he's over her for good
Chorus:...

How to Play Only Prettier by Miranda Lambert

This is definitely a "girl song" so I must make it clear, I only enjoy the melody and intro riff, not the message. haha. It's kind of selfish and trivial anyway isn't it? Oh well, I hope ya'll enjoy the pickin'!

How to Be a Country Star: Updated

If the Statler Brothers were around today their classic song How to Be a Country Star might sing a little differently.

Original Statler Brothers Version

Updated for Today Version

There's questions I’m always hearing every where I go
Like can city slickers make it on the country shows

Well, it takes more than just a twangy voice to hide who you really are
There's a few more things you ought to learn to be a country star

You got to learn to dance like Simpson or dress like the band Perry
Be pretty like Gloriana, or play rock like Jason Aldean
Put a rasp in your voice like Kracker, go to high school like Taylor
Cross over like Kid Rock did and you'll be a country star

Gel your hair like Rascal Flatts does or troy or Kelly or Keith
Have a beard like James Otto or a father like Miley
Be old just like the Eagles and Jewel you just can’t ignore
Make no sense like Sugarland, and you’ll be a Country star.

As for think Mr. Bojangles, and it's not too hard to figure out.

Song of the Week: Sunny Sweeney's "From a Table Away"

From A Table AwayThis week's song of the week goes to Sunny Sweeney's brand new single From a Table Away. With it's deep crisp electric guitar riffs and haunting pedal steel licks Texas native Sweeney certainly showcases her southwestern credentials. The song is about a girl who think she's in love with a man who has left his former lover to be with her. She finds out unexpectedly that in reality he's playing both sides of the fence when she sees them in a dimly lit restaurant showing affection. Just as always, Country music shows the other side of evil - it's negative consequences. Cheating may be fun for a season, but in the end it results in hurt and confusion.
