*All tabs are relative to capo 1

Intro Chords: G   F   Am   C

Play this riff in between the first three chords in the intro.

B |-0-2-4-2----|
G |-----------0--|

After the C chord play the riff below.

D |--------0---------0--|
A |--0h3-----3h4-----|

VERSE 1:

G                                   G/F
I’ve loved you since the very first day
                             Em7                     Cadd9
When I caught you looking my way, I smiled and just knew it.
G                      G/F                       Em7
And up until you came along, no one ever heard my song,
                       Cadd9
Now its climbing with a bullet.
D                   Am                    D
Its nice to have someone, so honestly devoted,
                         Am  G/B  C
But when it’s said and done,       girl I hope you know that,

CHORUS:

G             D/F#            Em7            Cadd9          G
The traveling, the singing, it don’t mean nothing without you
             D/F#            Em7     Cadd9             G
The fast cars, the guitars, they are  all  just second to,
              D/F#               Em7                  Cadd9        G
This life, this love that you and I have been dreaming of, for so long
     G/F               Cadd9
Would all be as good as gone, without you.
G     G/F            Em7        Cadd9
   Oh ho, without you,     hey…

VERSE 2:

G                  G/F                             Em7
Along comes a baby girl, and a suddenly my little world,
                     Cadd9
Just got a whole lot bigger, yes it did.
G                        G/F                            Em7
And people that I barely knew, love me ‘cause I’m part of you
                  Cadd9
Man it's tough to figure
D                Am7                    D
How two souls can be, miles from one another
                 Am7  G/B  C
But still you and me,       have somehow found each other.

CHORUS:

G             D/F#            Em7            Cadd9          G
The traveling, the singing, it don’t mean nothing without you
             D/F#            Em7     Cadd9             G
The fast cars, the guitars, they are  all  just second to,
              D/F#               Em7                  Cadd9        G
This life, this love that you and I have been dreaming of, for so long
     G/F               Cadd9          G
Would all be as good as gone, without you.
G    F - C          G    F - C      G    F - C
          Without you,     ohhhh ho ho

PRE-CHORUS
D                 Am                              D
Without you I'd survive, But I’d have to have the notion
                        Am  G/B  C
That I could live this life,       just going through the motions

CHORUS:

G             D/F#            Em7            Cadd9          G
The traveling, the singing, it don’t mean nothing without you
             D/F#            Em7     Cadd9             G
The fast cars, the guitars, they are  all  just second to,
              D/F#               Em7                  Cadd9     G
This life, this love that you and I have been building up  so  high,
     G/F                 Cadd9           G
It’s never gonna touch the sky, without you.
G     G/F            Em7  -  Cadd9         G    G/F                    Em7
Mmmm, without you            Without you, baby, baby, baby without you
Cadd9              G
       Without you.

Need more help with the picking pattern. You show the finger picking but it goes by so fast you can't see it. When you switch to flat pick, same thing it happens. Its' to fast for us beginners to figure it out.

Any tips or help?

I totally agree.. Just some idea of what pattern you used in the video would be helpful.

There's really not a consistent pattern in Keith Urban's rendition.

No, Keith doesn't use a consistant pattern, but the way it is played in the video, there sorta is.......so what is that pattern you are using? I realize you have to pick the strings you are hammering on, but what is the pattern in between those patterns for the hammer ons. Keith picks the whole song, so it would just be nice to have an idea of what strings to pick so it sounds right.

yeah post a pick pattern, like tab style or something

Since you are using a capo at the first fret wouldn't the correct tabs be 00-1-3-1 on the "B" string and o on the "G" string?

Since you are using a capo at the first fret wouldn't the correct tabs be 0-1-3-1 on the "B" string and 0 on the "G" string?
